Sarah Morgan

Barriers to Violent Radicalization Project

Hello everyone my name is Sarah! I recently completed my MA in Religion and Culture from Wilfrid Laurier University. My thesis examined the peaceful Indigenous/non-Indigenous collaboration that took place in 2009 between a small group of Anishinaabe Kweag (women) from Beausoleil First Nation and the local farming community in Tiny Township, Ontario. This group successfully stopped the completion of a landfill, known as Site 41. I had the unique opportunity to approach this topic as an internal researcher, having been a member of this movement for over a decade. My research passions include the intersection of environmental and indigenous studies and social movements. When I am not working or transcribing, you will find me exploring my new city, Toronto, attending community meetings and rallies, or watching the latest episode of Downton Abbey (cup of tea included).
